Best Craft Beer Bars in Saratoga

The craft beer movement is still going strong and we’re on board. In this day and age, you can choose your brew based on your favorite flavor profile and/or the weather outside, and there is nothing wrong with that in our opinion.

You can get a craft beer almost anywhere these days, but some establishments take it more seriously than others. Lucky for you, we’ve taken the time to investigate and round up the best spots for that perfectly poured crafty pint.

Calling all craft beer lovers! Despite its laid-back vibe, Henry Street Taproom does not mess around when it comes to beer. Here you’ll find 16 ever-changing taps flowing with the best brews from around the world and a staff that is well equipped to drop some serious knowledge about their product, as each member of the crew must pass their Cicerone exam.

In addition to draft line up the can and bottle selection is not to be overlooked as they are constantly rotating out some serious monsters (think Even More Maple Bourbon Barrel Aged Jesus stout from Evil Twin Brewery). If you’re unsure about craft beer, not to worry. The staff will happily point you in the right direction of anything comparable to your favorite brew.

Do not underestimate this small craft beer shop. The 12 constantly rotating taps offer everything from the hoppiest New England and American IPAs, to the spiciest of Saisons. They also have a cooler full of great cans that you can enjoy in-house or take for the road. We like to grab a brew and a spot outside to watch the hustle and bustle of downtown, as they are located right on Broadway.

The name says it all – you won’t find another bar in town quite like this one. There’s a reason it’s hard to come by a barstool on any given night and it ain’t the ‘poutine’ fries (although they’re fantastic).

The Local remains a favorite of Saratogians for its cozy neighborhood feel, unique and constantly changing craft lineup (always with the classics on tap), and a pub menu that is taken just as seriously as the beer.

Kings Tavern is another spot with a solid neighborhood vibe, except this one is directly across from the main entrance of the Saratoga Race Course! They’ve got a nice little patio for those warm summer days and big windows that open up onto Union Ave. Plus Kings has a pool table, darts and some other games like Golden Tee for your entertainment.

They may not have a draft list for the true beer snob types, but we’re always able to find something good, including some great local options. This is the perfect spot to fill up your cooler on the way into the track, or stop for a nice crafty beverage on your way out.
