The Highlights

Our Review

Drinks with friends? Date night? Live music? Solid Happy hour deals? Prime has all of these covered, and then some. Situated in the center of the championship golf course; Saratoga National, Prime offers a unique experience from other options in Saratoga Springs.

Cocktails, wine and snacks on the patio is our ideal experience at Prime, but winter happy hour spent chilling in the swanky bar and lounge area is a close runner up. For a great, just outside of downtown experience (that always has parking… and valet!), this is your spot.

The Vibe

Prime exudes elegance and sophisticated design from the second you pull in and drive down the mile long driveway, surrounded by a beautifully kept, 18 hole golf course. Entering the building is like walking into a mansion, covered in beautiful, locally sourced artwork and rich, warm wood tones. The bar room feels more casually chic, while the dining room has a more structured, elegant vibe… and the outdoor patio is surrounded in stone and lush seating. This patio is legit what (our) dreams are made of in the summer in Saratoga (open Mother’s Day Weekend through the end of September).

The Drinks

Prime has a notable collection of single malt scotches and whiskeys, in addition to a robust martini menu and a carefully crafted international wine list. Beer drinkers are not forgotten, as the (27 ½ foot long) bar offers 10 beers on tap and a solid selection by the bottle. In a nutshell: If you’re looking to “wet your whistle” in style… this place won’t disappoint.

The Food

One word: Steak. Although Prime offers a plethora or mouth-watering menu options, we have a hard time steering away from their Iowa Premium 35 day aged black angus including Wagyu, Filet, Cowboy steaks and more. This steak is good… like we want to eat some right now while writing this kind of good. Make sure to order some sides to pair with your steak (we love the garlic mashed potatoes and asparagus), and if you have a bigger appetite, start your meal with the surf and turf tempura roll or the prime chop salad.

What Else?

Not to be forgotten is Prime’s Sunday Jazz Brunch from 10am – 2pm every week. The spread that Prime puts out each Sunday is just as impressive on the eyes as it is on the palette. And the live music? Certainly helps offset the “Sunday blues”. Prefer to sleep in and skip brunch? That’s okay, visit the patio to snuggle around the fire pits to enjoy drinks and laughs with friends.
